Try making excellent spring spreads that you will enjoy throughout the day. They are simple, full of flavor and ideal for a quick snack or a light dinner.

1. Quark spread with spring onion

Ingredients: quark, sweet ground red paprika, salt, spring onion, pepper

Method: Put the quark into a bowl, you can add a little butter. Mix until smooth, add finely chopped spring onion with greens, salt, pepper and season with sweet red paprika. Serve with fresh bread and vegetables.

2. Carrot spread with onion

Ingredients: 3–4 carrots, 1 onion, 4 tablespoons mayonnaise, 1 teaspoon sugar, salt, pepper, chives

Method: Finely chop the onion, grate the carrots finely. Mix in a bowl, add salt, pepper, sugar and mayonnaise. Serve on bread, sprinkled with chives.

3. Radish spread

Ingredients: 1 bunch of radishes, salt, pepper, 1 onion, 4 tablespoons cream, a slice of butter, 1 package of tofu

Method: Sauté the onion in butter until softened, add grated radishes, salt and pepper, briefly fry. Let cool and stir into grated tofu. Add the cream and mix. Serve with fresh bread.

4. Creamy egg spread

Ingredients: 5 eggs, 200 g sour cream, 2 teaspoons mustard, 1 teaspoon salt, pepper, 1 onion

Method: Boil the eggs hard, peel and press through a sieve. Add finely chopped onion, mustard, salt and pepper. Stir in the sour cream, mix and let cool. Serve with bread and vegetables.

5. Quark spread with horseradish

Ingredients: 250 g quark, 4 eggs, 2 tablespoons sour cream or yogurt, 1–2 tablespoons horseradish, salt, pepper, ground cumin, chives

Method: Boil the eggs hard, peel and mash with a fork. Work the quark with a fork and mix with the eggs. Add horseradish, salt, pepper and cumin. Stir in the sour cream or yogurt. Serve with baked goods, sprinkled with chives.

6. Egg spread with onion

Ingredients: 8 eggs, 3 tablespoons sour cream, 3 tablespoons mayonnaise, 1 tablespoon mustard, 1 tablespoon butter, 1 onion, salt, pepper, parsley or chives

Method: Boil the eggs hard, peel and chop finely. Add finely chopped onion, butter, sour cream, mayonnaise and mustard. Salt, pepper and mix. Sprinkle with chopped parsley or chives.

7. Spring herb spread

Ingredients: 200 g quark, 2 tablespoons sour cream, a handful of fresh herbs (chives, parsley, lovage), salt, pepper

Method: Mix the quark with the sour cream, add the chopped herbs, salt and pepper. Serve on fresh baked goods or in vegetable boats.
