Stress has become a common part of our lives. The problem, however, arises when it starts to control our body and mind without us realizing it. Long-term overload can lead to serious health problems. Take a look at 9 warning signs that are good to know. Definitely don’t underestimate sign number 8!
1) Pain throughout the body
Back pain, headaches, stomach aches or tense muscles? The body is asking for a break. Stress can also manifest as heart palpitations or digestive problems. Don’t ignore it.
2) Sleep problems
Can’t fall asleep, wake up often, or sleep too long and still feel tired? Stress affects your nervous system and disrupts the natural sleep rhythm.
3) Weight fluctuations
Are you gaining weight or losing it quickly for no apparent reason? Stress slows the metabolism, or on the contrary suppresses the appetite. Everyone reacts differently, but large swings should always be addressed.
4) Mood swings and irritability
Sometimes you laugh, other times you feel like crying? Stress disrupts hormones and shows in your mental state. Talk about your problems with loved ones.
5) Constant thoughts about work and responsibilities
Are you constantly dealing with work, bills or other worries? Excessive worrying solves nothing, it only deepens the stress. Give yourself time to rest.
6) Inability to sit still
Do you always have to be doing something? Anxiety and tension overload your mind. Try breathing exercises, gentle stretching or just sitting quietly.
7) Loss of interest in intimacy
Stress increases cortisol levels, which suppresses libido. Talk about your feelings with your partner; your relationship shouldn’t suffer because of stress.
8) Hair loss
Hair loss can be caused by stress. If you notice that more hair is falling out than usual, slow down and reflect on your pace of life.
9) Short „fuse“ and impatience
Do small things bother you and do you explode easily? Stress affects your tolerance. Learn to distinguish what is really important and try relaxation.
What does this mean?
Stress is a silent killer. If you notice any of these symptoms in yourself, slow down and find time just for yourself. Your health is worth it.
