Herring balls – traditional taste in a new form
Ingredients:
- 150 g of lightly fried or canned herring fillet
- 2 boiled potatoes
- 2 boiled eggs
- ½ onion
- 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise
- salt and ground pepper to taste
- 1 bunch of dill
Method:
Cut the herring fillet into small pieces. Boil the potatoes and eggs, let them cool and grate them. Chop the onion finely, pour over with hot water and let stand. Mix all the ingredients, season with salt and pepper and add the mayonnaise. Form small balls from the mixture and coat them in chopped dill.
Salmon balls – a delicate delicacy
Ingredients:
- ¾ of a can of pink canned salmon
- 2 cooked egg whites
- 50 g of cheese
- 1 boiled carrot
- ½ onion
- 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise
- 3-4 cooked egg yolks
- salt and ground black pepper
Method:
Chop the onion, pour over with hot water and let stand. Mash the salmon with a fork and mix with the finely grated egg whites, carrot and cheese. Add the onion, mayonnaise, salt and pepper. Shape into balls and coat them in grated egg yolk.
Chicken balls with mushrooms – a delicious combination
Ingredients:
- 150 g of cooked chicken breasts
- 150 g of chanterelles (or other mushrooms)
- 1 fresh cucumber
- 1–2 tablespoons of mayonnaise
- 2 cloves of garlic
- salt and ground pepper
- 70 g of ground walnuts
Method:
Cook the chicken breasts and mushrooms and chop finely. If you want a stronger flavor, you can briefly sauté the mushrooms with some onion. Grate the cucumber, salt it and let it sweat, then squeeze out the excess juice. Press the garlic and mix with the mayonnaise. Mix all the ingredients, season with salt and pepper and form into balls. Finally coat them in the ground walnuts, which will add crunch.
