This banana dessert is perfect for any celebration or as a sweet treat with afternoon coffee. With a delicious combination of chocolate ganache, delicate vanilla cream and bananas, it’s a dessert you’ll fall in love with at first taste. It features easy preparation and a great flavor that everyone will appreciate.

Preparation procedure

  • Preparing the batter: Beat the eggs with a pinch of salt and the sugar until thick and foamy. Then add the flour mixed with the baking powder. Mix thoroughly and pour onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 15 minutes, until the batter turns golden. Let cool, then cut into two halves.
  • Preparing the chocolate ganache: Combine the cream and chocolate in a small saucepan and heat slowly until the chocolate is completely melted. Stir until smooth. Pour the finished ganache evenly over the cake layer that is covered with bananas.
  • Preparing the vanilla cream: In a saucepan, mix 300 ml of milk, the vanilla extract and the sugar. Add the cornstarch and mix well. Bring to a boil and cook until thickened. Let cool slightly. Soak the gelatin in cold water, squeeze out the excess and add it to the warm (not hot) cream. Stir thoroughly.
  • Preparing the mascarpone cream: Combine the mascarpone with 250 ml whipping cream and whip until foamy. Then add the vanilla cream and mix.
  • Assembling the dessert: Spread the prepared cream evenly over the layer with chocolate ganache. Place the second cake layer on the cream. Lightly press down and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
  • Serving: Before serving, you can decorate with chocolate glaze or whipped cream to your preference.

  • Preparation of the batter and fillings: 20 minutes
  • Baking the batter: 15 minutes
  • Preparing the ganache and cream: 30 minutes
  • Chilling: 4 hours or overnight
  • Total time: approximately 5 hours
