These homemade chocolate gingerbread cookies with a delicate scent of orange and a blend of spices are irresistible to children and adults alike. Preparation procedure

  • Preparing the dough: Beat the eggs with the sugar and a pinch of salt until light and foamy. Add the oil, sour cream, honey and all the spices including the orange zest. Mix well.
  • Mixing the dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, mix the flour, cocoa and baking powder. Gradually work this mixture into the wet mixture until a smooth dough forms.
  • Kneading the dough: Work the dough with your hands, adding a little flour if needed. It should be soft, smooth and not sticky. Wrap it in plastic wrap and let it rest in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  • Shaping and baking: On a floured surface roll the dough to about 1 cm thickness. Cut out shapes as desired and transfer them to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C for about 15 minutes.
  • Glaze: Spread the cooled cookies with the glaze, which you make by mixing the milk with the powdered sugar to a smooth consistency. Let dry.
