- We wash the cucumbers and cut them into thin slices.
- We peel the carrot and also cut it into slices.
- We peel the onion and cut it into thin strips.
- We remove the core from the cabbage and shred it finely. Cut the pepper into strips.
- In a bowl we mix salt, sugar, pepper, bay leaf, citric acid and Borken.
- We mix the chopped vegetables and add the dry mixture of spices and salt.
- Finally we add the vinegar and mix everything.
- We let it rest for 7 hours.
- Then we press the vegetable mixture into sterilized canning jars up to the rim and pour the juice from the vegetables into each jar and close the jars well.
- We set the pickled cabbage aside and let it rest for several weeks.
- After 5 weeks you can eat the pickled cabbage.
