- Preparation of the apples: Clean and peel the apples, remove their cores and slice them thinly. Heat the oil in a pan and sauté the apples on both sides with the added tablespoon of sugar until they soften and lightly caramelize.
- Dough: Mix all the dough ingredients – quark, eggs, sugar, sour cream, plain flour and a pinch of salt – until a smooth mixture forms.
- Assembling the cake: Arrange the sautéed apples on the bottom of a cake pan. Then pour the prepared batter evenly over the apples.
- Baking: Preheat the oven to 200 °C and bake the cake for approximately 25 minutes, until the batter is golden and set.
