Preparation procedure

  • Preparing the batter In a bowl, whisk the eggs with the sugar and a pinch of salt until frothy. Gradually pour in the oil, stir in the yogurt and vanilla extract. Finally add the flour with the baking powder and gently combine everything into a smooth batter.
  • Preparing the pan and apples Line a cake pan (Ø approx. 20 cm) with parchment paper. Peel the apples and slice them thinly. Divide the batter so that you can layer it: batter – apples – batter – apples – batter – apples – final layer batter.
  • Vanilla cream Whisk the egg with the sugar and vanilla extract, add the starch and milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the cream thickens to a pudding-like consistency. Transfer the cream into a piping bag and decorate the surface of the cake.
  • Baking Bake in an oven preheated to 170 °C for about 50 minutes. If the surface browns too much after 35 minutes, cover the cake with aluminum foil.
  • Finishing Let the cake cool completely. Before serving, dust with powdered sugar.
