  • Just mix the individual ingredients and prepare the dough. You can knead it by hand, or you can also use a powerful kitchen mixer. When it has the desired consistency, it needs to be left to rest. It should be placed in a warm spot, where you leave it for about 30 – 40 minutes. During this time it will rise, which is an important technological step that must be preserved.
  • Gypsy bread is characteristic in that it is baked in small loaves. Not in one large one, as most of us are used to with classic bread. From the risen dough make roughly 6 – 8 equally sized loaves, which you then place on a baking tray lined with baking paper. This eliminates sticking and burning. They should be more like thinner patties than the classic loaves you know from shop counters.
  • The method of baking is unique as well. The oven should be preheated to a high temperature, namely 240 degrees Celsius. When you reach it, place the tray with the loaves in the oven. Bake them like this for about 10 minutes. Then open the oven and turn each of the loaves over. Bake them like this for another 10 minutes. Afterwards they are ready, so remove them from the oven and let them cool at room temperature. Not only will their shape and interesting color after baking catch your eye.
