Preparation procedure

  • Preparing the meat In a large bowl, mix the ground beef and pork.
  • Adding ingredients Add the breadcrumbs, eggs, salt, finely chopped parsley and garlic. Pour in a little olive oil and add the grated cheese (if using).
  • Working the mixture Mix the mixture well with a fork and then press it well so that the consistency is uniform.
  • Shaping the meatloaf Spread the meat on baking paper into a rectangular shape about 1 cm thick.
  • Filling the meatloaf On two-thirds of the surface, place thin slices of roasted ham and smoked provolone. Leave the rest free.

  • Checking doneness When there are a few minutes left of baking, open the oven and check whether the meatloaf is cooked through and has not lost too much moisture. If not, leave it to bake for a few more minutes.
