This recipe will show you how to conjure up soft langos in half an hour that the whole family will enjoy. The dough is easy to prepare and doesn’t require a starter – just mix the ingredients, let it rest for a while, and you can fry. The result? Langos so fluffy they melt on the tongue.

Preparation procedure

  • Dough preparation Into a large bowl add the flour, instant yeast, salt and sugar. Pour in the lukewarm water and work into a smooth, soft dough by hand or with a mixer. You don't need to make a sponge – instant yeast is added directly to the flour.
  • Rising Cover the dough with a cloth and let it rise in a warm place for about 15–20 minutes. During this time it should noticeably expand.
  • Shaping the langos Divide the risen dough into 8 equal pieces. Shape each into a ball and let rest for another 10 minutes. Then stretch each ball by hand into a thin disk about 0.5 cm thick.
  • Frying Heat a generous amount of oil in a pan. Fry the langos on both sides until golden – each side takes about 1–2 minutes. Place finished langos on a paper towel to absorb excess oil.
