Although it may seem complicated, its preparation is simple and the “molehill” effect will make it the centerpiece of any celebration. With a deeper baking pan you’ll achieve a great result that will surely enchant your guests.

Preparation procedure
- Dough preparation: In a large bowl, whisk 5 eggs with the granulated sugar. Add 50 g melted butter, the all-purpose flour, cocoa, baking powder and vanilla sugar. Mix thoroughly until a smooth batter forms. Prepare a round pan (diameter approx. 26 cm), pour the batter into it and bake in a preheated oven at 170 °C for approximately 35–40 minutes.
- Cream preparation: In a pot, heat the milk, add the starch, the egg, the coconut, the cream and the powdered sugar. Cook the mixture until it thickens to a consistency similar to sour cream. Finally add 100 g butter and mix well, then let the cream cool.
- Assembling the cake: Cut the baked cake into two rounds. Place the bottom round on a serving plate and pile about two-thirds of the cream on it. Place the second half of the cake on the cream and spread the remaining cream on top. Smooth the cake thoroughly. Chill the cake in the refrigerator for at least 2–3 hours.
- Decoration: If you have some extra cake, crumble it and sprinkle it over the top of the cake. You can also grate dark chocolate and decorate the top of the cake with it. Make sure the cake is well chilled before serving so it slices easily.
