For the batter:

4 eggs
200 g granulated sugar
1 packet of vanilla sugar
250 ml milk
150 ml oil
50 g good-quality cocoa
1 packet baking powder
350 g all-purpose flour

For the cream:

600 ml whipping cream
200 g smooth quark (tvaroh)
200 g mascarpone
120 g powdered sugar
1 tablespoon whipping cream stabilizer
3 tablespoons chocolate shavings

To finish:

1 jar of canned cherries or sour cherries (pitted)
cherry or sour cherry juice to moisten the cake base
chocolate shavings and cherries for decoration

Preparation procedure

Batter: Beat the eggs with the sugar and vanilla sugar until thick and frothy. Gradually pour in the milk and oil. Finally add the cocoa, baking powder and flour. Mix until a smooth batter forms. Pour it onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and evenly spread the pitted cherries. Bake in an oven preheated to 170 °C for about 30 minutes. While still warm, evenly drizzle the baked base with cherry juice and let it cool completely.
Cream: In a large bowl, whip the cream with the sugar and stabilizer until stiff. Fold in the quark, mascarpone and finally add the chocolate shavings. Mix everything into a smooth and firm cream.
Assembly: Spread the prepared cream evenly over the cooled base. Smooth the surface. Decorate the top with chocolate shavings and a few cherries or sour cherries.
