Preparation procedure

  • Preparing the starter In a small cup, mix the warm milk with one tablespoon of sugar, one tablespoon of flour and the dried yeast. Let stand for about 10 minutes, until the starter becomes frothy.
  • Preparing the dough Sift the flour into a large bowl, add the remaining sugar, a pinch of salt and pour in the starter. In another bowl, mix the egg, melted butter and oil. Add to the flour and work into a smooth, non-sticky dough. Let it rest covered for about 30 minutes.
  • Shaping the buns Divide the dough into smaller portions and shape each into a ball. Inject a little condensed milk into the center of each bun (for example using a piping bag or a syringe).
  • Baking Place the buns on a greased and floured baking tray. Brush the surface with the beaten egg yolk. Bake in an oven preheated to 180 °C for about 20 minutes until golden.
