If you’re craving a delicious chocolate cake that gets eaten in a flash, try this family recipe! The batter is light as a cloud and the chocolate glaze doesn’t crack when you slice it. In our home it doesn’t even last half a day, and it’s easy to prepare, so even a beginner can manage it.

Preparation procedure

  • Dough preparation: In a bowl, mix the dry ingredients: sift the flour, add the semolina, granulated and vanilla sugar, and the baking powder. Mix everything well. Finally add the water and wrap the mixture in cling film. Let it rest in the refrigerator for about 2-3 hours, or even overnight.
  • Adding other ingredients: After the mixture has rested, add the oil and cocoa, and mix thoroughly. Add raisins, nuts, or pieces of dark chocolate to taste.
  • Baking: Prepare a baking pan, grease it with butter and dust it with flour. Pour the batter into it and bake in an oven preheated to 190 °C for about 40-50 minutes. Check the cake with a wooden skewer; if no batter remains on it, it's done.
  • Finishing: After baking, spread your favorite jam on top. You can sprinkle it with Granko or pour chocolate glaze over it. Serve with a scoop of ice cream or whipped cream.
