- Prepare the chocolate base: In a larger saucepan bring the water with the sugar to a boil. As soon as the mixture starts to boil, remove it from the heat and add the margarine and cooking chocolate. Stir until everything melts and combines into a smooth chocolate mixture.
- Create the dough: To the melted chocolate mixture add the ground biscuits and grated coconut. Mix everything thoroughly until a thick dough forms.
- Shape the nests: From the dough form small balls which you coat in grated coconut. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and gently press them by hand into a circular shape.
- Decorate with whipped cream: Whip the chocolate cream until stiff. Using a piping bag, create a motif of chocolate whipped cream in the center of each nest.
- Serve: Let the finished nests firm up slightly, or put them in the refrigerator for a while. Serve as Christmas cookies or a delicious dessert for guests.
