These coconut macaroons are among the simplest homemade treats, yet they taste surprisingly luxurious. You only need three basic ingredients and a few minutes. The result is moist, delicate, and intensely coconut-flavored bites that you can top with chocolate or leave plain. Ideal for quick baking, for guests, or as a sweet snack with afternoon coffee.

Preparation procedure

  • Preparing the mixture Preheat the oven to 160 °C. In a bowl, mix the shredded coconut and sweetened condensed milk. Add an egg at room temperature and work it in thoroughly until a thick, sticky mixture forms.
  • Shaping Prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Using a spoon, form small mounds and gently press them down so they hold their shape while baking. Leave at least 3 cm between them.
  • Baking Bake the macaroons for 20 minutes, until they develop slightly golden edges. After baking, let them cool completely on the sheet so they firm up and don't crumble.
  • Chocolate variant (optional) Melt the dark chocolate in a bain-marie and partially dip the macaroons into it or drizzle them with chocolate. Let them set at room temperature.
