Ingredients

Preparation procedure

  • Preparing the vegetables Wash the tomatoes and cut them into smaller cubes. Peel the onion and cut into thin half-moon slices. Transfer both vegetables to a larger bowl.
  • Adding the cheese Cut the sliced cheese into cubes approximately the same size as the tomatoes or grate it on a coarse grater. Pour into the bowl with the vegetables.
  • Preparing the dressing In a smaller bowl, mix the sour cream with the mustard, add the sugar, a pinch of salt and pepper. Stir thoroughly to form a smooth cream.
  • Finishing the salad Pour the dressing over the tomatoes, onion and cheese. Salt and pepper to taste, mix again. Cover the container and place in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes so the flavors combine and the salad cools.
  • Serving Before serving, sprinkle with chopped fresh basil. You can serve the salad on its own as a light main course or as a side dish to grilled meat or fresh bread.
