This dessert is so simple and delicious that I bake it for my family twice a week. Everyone will love it – from children to adults. A few readily available ingredients, a short preparation time, and the smell of a freshly baked cake will scent the whole apartment.

Ingredients

400 g all-purpose flour
200 g granulated sugar
3 eggs
200 ml milk
150 ml vegetable oil
1 packet baking powder (12 g)
1 packet vanilla sugar (10 g)
lemon zest from 1 lemon (to taste)

Preparation procedure

Preparing the batter In a bowl, beat 3 eggs with 200 g granulated sugar and 10 g vanilla sugar until light and fluffy. Add the grated lemon zest, 200 ml milk and 150 ml oil. Stir to combine the liquid ingredients.
Mixing the dry ingredients In a separate bowl, mix 400 g all-purpose flour with 12 g baking powder. Sift them through a sieve directly over the bowl with the liquid mixture.
Making the final batter Combine the dry and wet ingredients by mixing thoroughly – ideally with a spatula or whisk – until a smooth, lump-free batter forms.
