The dessert known as the Three Milks cake comes from Latin America and its origin remains shrouded in mystery – some claim it’s from Mexico, others say it originated in Nicaragua. In any case, it is an incredibly delicious cake that surprises with its tenderness and sweetness. Try this simple recipe and leave your family and guests delighted.

  • Dough preparation: Separate 4 egg whites from the yolks. Beat the egg whites with half of the sugar into stiff peaks. In another bowl, beat 4 yolks, 1 whole egg and the other half of the sugar until the mixture lightens.
  • Finishing the batter: Gradually add the sifted flour and vanilla sugar to the yolk mixture. Gently fold in the beaten egg whites and mix the batter carefully from top to bottom.
  • Baking: Preheat the oven to 180 °C. Grease the baking pan with butter, pour in the batter and bake for about 30–35 minutes.
  • Preparing the three-milk mixture: Meanwhile prepare the three-milk mixture – combine the cooked condensed milk, regular milk and 200 ml of cream. Warm the mixture slightly so it blends better.
  • Soaking the cake: After baking, prick the cake base with a fork and gradually pour the prepared milk mixture over it. Let it soak in.
  • Cream: Mix 3 tbsp condensed milk, 75 ml of cream and powdered sugar. Spread the mixture over the top of the cake.
  • Resting: Cover the pan with foil and let the cake rest overnight in the refrigerator.
  • Decoration: Before serving, decorate with fresh fruit such as blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, banana or kiwi.
