The secret to success is fresh egg yolks, real vanilla and proper white rum. The preparation is simple and you’ll be rewarded with an excellent liqueur that will scent the whole home.

Preparation procedure

  • Zahřátí žloutků ve vodní lázni Pour water into a larger pot and bring it to a gentle heat. Place a bowl over the pot so that it doesn't touch the water. Put the yolks in the bowl and a little sugar to taste. Whisk until a light foam forms. The temperature must rise gradually, otherwise the yolks would curdle.
  • Přidání mléčných surovin a koření When the yolk foam starts to thicken, add: condensed milk cream whole milk Add the star anise to the mixture. Split the vanilla bean lengthwise, scrape out the seeds and add them to the bowl along with the remaining pod. Heat, stirring constantly, until a thicker cream forms, but never let the mixture boil.
  • Přidání rumu Once the mixture has a velvety consistency, pour in the rum and heat briefly so the flavors meld.
  • Přecedění a zrání Remove from heat and let cool for 10 minutes. Then pour the liqueur through a fine sieve into clean glass bottles. Seal and place in a cool, dark spot for at least 48 hours so the liqueur develops the proper flavor and thickness.
