And it is precisely eggnog liqueur balls that combine everything that makes the holidays special – delicacy, creaminess and a luxurious taste. This no-bake dessert can be prepared in a few minutes, without an oven or a complicated procedure. Ideal as an edible gift, an elegant dessert with coffee or a sweet finish after Christmas Eve dinner.

The recipe is based on the classic Austrian “Eierlikörkugeln”, but is adapted for Czech tastes – with accessible ingredients, a smoother texture and possibilities for variations according to your imagination.

Ingredients

for coating: coconut, cocoa, ground nuts or sugar pearls

Preparation procedure

  • Break the white chocolate into pieces and melt it together with the butter in a water bath. Stir until a smooth mixture forms.
  • Add the eggnog liqueur, vanilla sugar and a pinch of salt, then mix everything well.
  • Fold in the crushed sponge biscuits or cookies until you get a soft but moldable dough.
  • Cover the mixture and chill in the refrigerator for 30–60 minutes to firm up.
  • Then shape into small balls and coat as desired – in coconut, cocoa, nuts or sugar decorations.
  • Store the finished balls in a closed container in the fridge. They taste best after 2–3 days, when the flavors have nicely melded.

Tip: For adult versions you can add a little rum or almond liqueur. If you want a more pronounced flavor, replace the white chocolate with dark chocolate.
