  • Yeast sponge Crumble the yeast into a bowl, add a tablespoon of sugar and some lukewarm milk. Let the sponge rise for 10–15 minutes.
  • Dough preparation In a bowl mix the flour, salt, egg, the rest of the milk and the risen sponge. Knead into a smooth, non-sticky dough and let it rise for about 60 minutes.

  • Steaming Steam the dumplings for approximately 15 minutes without lifting the lid. After cooking, immediately poke them with a skewer so the steam can escape, and brush with melted butter.
