Garlic snails are an excellent choice for any lover of fragrant baked goods. This recipe is simple and, with the addition of fresh herbs, you’ll get an even more pronounced flavour. Surprise your loved ones with these delicious snails!

Preparation procedure

  • Dough preparation: In a bowl, mix the yeast with the sifted flour. Add warm milk, salt, sugar and vegetable oil. Mix the dough and cover it with a cloth. Place in a warm spot and let it rise for about 30 minutes.
  • Filling preparation: In a bowl, mix the chopped herbs, crushed garlic cloves and softened butter until a homogeneous mixture forms.
  • Shaping the snails: Roll out the risen dough into a sheet and cut into smaller circles. Place a teaspoon of the herb-garlic filling on each circle. Fold the circles in half, or alternatively form a roll and cut into smaller pieces.
  • Baking: Place the rings into muffin cups and let them rise for a few more minutes under a cloth. Brush them with the beaten egg yolk. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C for about 20–25 minutes.
  • Garlic snails are a great alternative to garlic bread. If you have leftover dough, you can store it in the refrigerator for 5 days and make fresh snails whenever you crave them.
  • Experiment with the filling and try adding ham or bacon. There are no limits to your imagination!
