When a sweet craving hits in the evening, this mug “Gavalier” will save you. From one batter you make a fluffy sheet with irregular “spots” of quark and povidla with chocolate. No weighing needed – just a cup, a bowl and 30 minutes. The result? A moist cake that disappears still warm.

Preparation procedure

  • Dough Beat the eggs with the sugar until pale and foamy. Pour in the oil and milk, mix. Fold in the flour with the baking powder, the vanilla sugar and the lemon zest. Spread the batter onto a buttered and floured baking sheet (or line with baking paper).
  • Dollops Mix the quark with the powdered sugar (and optionally the butter). Stir the melted chocolate into part of the povidla. Using a teaspoon, make irregular "mounds" of quark and povidla on the batter – alternating light and chocolate ones.
  • Baking Bake in an oven preheated to 180 °C for about 25 minutes, until a skewer comes out dry and the edges are lightly golden.
  • Finishing Let cool briefly, sprinkle with powdered sugar or coconut, and cut into slices.
