Šuhajdy are among the classic Czechoslovak sweets that many families associate with Christmas. This recipe has been tried and tested over the years and is one of those that are made again and again – not only during the holidays. The combination of quality chocolate, nut filling and a delicate rum aroma is simply irresistible.

Preparation procedure

  • In a bowl, mix the ground nuts, powdered sugar, compote juice and rum. Create a thick, moldable nut filling.
  • Melt the chocolate with the vegetable fat in a water bath until smooth.
  • Pour a little melted chocolate into paper cups, add the nut filling and then cover with another layer of chocolate.
  • Let them set thoroughly in a cool place, ideally for several hours.
