This grandmother’s recipe is one that the whole family always looks forward to at home. It is moist, juicy and, thanks to the large layer of blueberries, has an irresistible flavor. It’s great with coffee, for celebrations, or as a weekend dessert. The recipe is simple, but the result tastes like it’s from a pastry shop.

Preparation procedure

  • Separate the yolks from the whites. Mix the yolks with the salt, powdered sugar and melted butter. Add the sifted flour with the baking powder and work into a non-sticky dough.
  • Divide the dough into two parts – transfer the larger part into a round pan lined with baking paper. Put the smaller part into the freezer.
  • Heat the blueberries in a pot together with the sugar and cornstarch. Gradually add water and cook until thickened. Spread the blueberry filling over the prepared dough.
  • For the cream, mix the Greek yogurt with the vanilla and a little starch. Whip the egg whites into stiff peaks and gradually beat in the sugar. Gently fold the yogurt mixture into the meringue and spread over the blueberry layer.
  • Grate the hardened part of the dough from the freezer on top. Bake at 180 °C for about 45 minutes.
