Once you try this recipe, you’ll never buy bread again. Homemade bread is not only tastier but also healthier. In this article we’ll look at how to prepare bread that means you’ll never have to go to the store again.

  • Preparing the yeast starter: Stir the yeast into a little warm water until it is dissolved. Add the sugar and leave the starter in a warm place for 30–60 minutes, until it rises. You can place it in a preheated oven (up to 50 °C).
  • Preparing the dough: In a bowl, mix the flour with the salt. Gradually add the starter to the flour and the rest of the warm water. Mix the dough thoroughly. If it's too stiff, add a little water; if it's too runny, add more flour. Let the dough rise in a warm place for at least 30 minutes, until it doubles in size.
  • Shaping and baking: After the dough has risen, shape the loaf as you wish (round or oval). Place it on a baking sheet and put it into a preheated oven at 220 °C. Bake for about 30 minutes. Toward the end of baking, watch the crust and adjust the baking time if necessary.
  • Cooling and serving: After baking, remove the bread from the oven and let it cool on a rack. Once the bread has cooled, you can cut the first slice and enjoy the taste of homemade bread, which is completely different from store-bought varieties.
