Preparation procedure
- Preparing the dough Start by preparing the dough. Put the quark, butter and flour into a bowl. Mix all the ingredients until a smooth dough forms. If you have a food processor, the work will go faster.
- Preparing the sticks Roll out the finished dough into a sheet about 1 cm thick. Then cut the dough into 1x1 cm pieces. The length of the sticks depends on your preference; they can be as long as traditional Hradec sticks, or shorter, however you like.
- Seasoning Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place the individual sticks on it. Beat the egg and brush each stick with it. This layer will help the sticks get a beautiful golden color. For seasoning you can use coarse salt, sesame or caraway. It's up to you, or you can leave the sticks unseasoned.
- Baking Preheat the oven to 180°C and bake the sticks for approximately 20–25 minutes, until they have a golden color. Once they're done, take them out of the oven and let them cool to room temperature.
