Canned beef is a great choice if you want to have a quality and healthy dish always on hand. This recipe will show you how to prepare meat full of flavor without harmful preservatives and unnecessary additives.

  • Preparation of the meat and jars: Thoroughly wash the canning jars and lids so they are perfectly clean. Cut the beef into larger pieces and simmer in salted water for about 20 minutes. Cut the bacon into larger pieces and lightly fry in a pan so it releases some fat.
  • Filling the jars: Place a bay leaf and a few peppercorns at the bottom of each jar. Alternate layers of meat and bacon so the can is tasty and well layered. Press the meat down so there is no unnecessary air between the pieces.
  • Pouring with fat: Finally, pour the melted fat over the meat so it is completely submerged. The fat helps preserve it and retain the flavor.
  • Sterilization: Close the jars tightly and place them in a large pot with water so that they are submerged at least three quarters of the way. Simmer the jars at medium heat for approximately 1 hour.
  • Storage: After removing the jars, let them cool completely in a cool, dry place. The stored meat will last for several months.
