Preparation procedure
- Preparing the cream: In a pot (preferably non-stick) mix the sugar, butter, Salko, cocoa, ground nuts and Solamyl. Heat slowly, stirring constantly, until a thick dark brown cream forms.
- Preparing the wafer layers: Place baking paper on a smaller baking tray and put the first wafer sheet on it. Spread cream on the first wafer and cover it with the second wafer. Repeat this process until you have used 5 wafer sheets (the top should remain unspread).
- Removing air: Cover the last wafer with baking paper and place something heavy on top (e.g., a bag of flour) to remove air bubbles and create a compact structure.
- Chilling: Let the tatranky set overnight in the refrigerator.
- Finishing: The next day, cut the wafers into pieces the size of classic tatranky. You can dip the edges in melted chocolate and sprinkle decorations of your choice.
