When you don’t have time to shop and need to quickly feed the family or unexpected guests, this recipe for a quick ground-meat dish is the ideal solution. With a minimum of ingredients you commonly have at home, you’ll prepare a tender, juicy and tasty meal that everyone will love. And all from just 200 g of ground meat!

  • Preparing the rice and vegetables: Cook the rice until al dente. Grate the carrot and finely chop the onion. Sauté the vegetables in a pan until golden.
  • Forming the balls: Mix the rice, sautéed vegetables and ground meat. From the mixture, shape smaller balls about 4 cm in diameter.
  • Preparing the potatoes and baking: Slice the potatoes into rounds. Grease a baking dish with vegetable oil and arrange the potatoes and meatballs in it in the shape of a flower or otherwise according to your imagination. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 20 minutes.
  • Preparing the sauce: Meanwhile, mix the sour cream, water, tomato paste, salt and spices. Pour this mixture over the semi-prepared dish in the oven and bake for another 15 minutes.
  • Finishing the dish: After 15 minutes, sprinkle the dish with grated cheese and bake for another 5 minutes so the cheese melts nicely.
  • Serving: Before serving, you can garnish the dish with fresh herbs for better appearance and flavor.

Our tip:

This baked dish is very filling and juicy, an ideal alternative to baked potatoes and meatballs. You can also add seasonal vegetables, such as bell peppers or tomatoes, which will further enrich the dish. This recipe is great for a quick, tasty and nutritious dinner.
