This cup-based poppy-seed cake is ideal for any occasion. Its preparation takes minimal time and you’ll commonly find the ingredients at home. Just mix them, pour onto a baking sheet and in 20 minutes you can enjoy a great dessert with coffee or as a sweet breakfast.

Preparation procedure
- Preparing the batter: Mix all the ingredients (flour, sugar, baking powder, vanilla sugar, egg, oil, milk, ground poppy seeds and jam) in a bowl and whisk into a smooth batter.
- Baking: Pour the batter onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or greased with fat. Bake in a preheated oven at 170 °C for about 20 minutes. Check whether the batter is done by inserting a toothpick into the center – if it comes out dry, the poppy-seed cake is baked.
- Chocolate glaze: Let the poppy-seed cake cool and meanwhile prepare the glaze. In a double boiler, melt the dark chocolate with the butter and pour this mixture over the cooled poppy-seed cake.
