  • Preparing the carrot Peel the carrot, grate it finely and squeeze out the excess water thoroughly so the mixture isn’t too runny.
  • Mixing the ingredients Place the ground meat, grated carrot, both types of cheese and the chopped spring onion into a bowl. Add salt, pepper, barbecue seasoning, mustard and barbecue sauce.
  • Working the mixture Mix everything thoroughly by hand until a cohesive mass forms. Adjust seasoning if necessary.
  • Shaping and baking Form smaller patties from the meat mixture. Arrange them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake in a preheated oven at 190 °C for 30–35 minutes, until golden.
  • Serving Serve hot with mashed potatoes, boiled potatoes or a light vegetable salad.
