This dessert is ideal if you want to impress guests or celebrate a special occasion. The combination of poppy seed, nut and cocoa batters with a cream filling gives this „sheet cake“ a truly exceptional taste. Although it looks elaborate, the preparation is surprisingly simple.

Preparation procedure
- Preparation of the dough: From the ingredients for the individual batters (poppy seed, nut and cocoa) prepare 3 different types of batter. Layer each batter onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper (32 × 20 cm) and bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C for 10-15 minutes. Then let the batters cool.
- Preparation of the cream: In a saucepan, mix the milk, semolina, vanilla sugar and granulated sugar. Cook over low heat until the mixture thickens. Let it cool. Meanwhile, whip the butter until fluffy and gradually add it to the cooled pudding. Finally add the melted chocolate and mix well.
- Assembling the cake: Spread part of the cream onto the poppy seed layer, cover with the cocoa layer, spread another part of the cream, then add the nut layer and finish with the remaining cream.
- Sprinkling: Sprinkle the surface of the cake with ground nuts and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the flavors to meld.
