Luckily, this recipe for mini cakes will save you: a quick no‑rise dough you can make fast, yielding a tender, fragrant result that goes perfectly with coffee or for guests. Just a few ingredients, a bit of skill, and the ideal small portion for a treat.

Preparation procedure

  • Let the butter and lard soften to room temperature
  • Put the flour into a bowl and make a well in it
  • Into the well add the lukewarm milk, sugar and crumble in the yeast
  • Wait until a starter forms
  • Add the remaining ingredients and work into a smooth dough by hand
  • Shape the dough into little cakes and fill them with a filling of your choice
  • Then bake until golden, at approximately 170°C
  • Before serving, dust with powdered sugar
