Preparation procedure

  • First part (batter): Beat the egg yolks with the sugar until frothy. Add the oil, jam, cocoa powder, milk, vanilla sugar and baking powder. Finally stir in the flour and mix well until smooth. Grease a baking tray with butter and dust with flour. Pour the prepared batter onto the tray and bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 15 minutes.
  • Second part (apple filling): Peel the apples and grate them coarsely. Add the juice of half a lemon and mix. Beat the egg whites with 150 g sugar until stiff peaks form. Carefully fold the grated apples into the egg white mixture and mix. After 15 minutes, remove the pre-baked base from the oven and spread the apple filling evenly over it. Return to the oven and bake for another 30 minutes.
  • Ganache: Chop the chocolate and mix with the hot cream. Stir the mixture well until smooth. Pour the ganache over the baked cake and let it set. Once set, cut and serve.
