Preparation procedure

  • Base Separate the yolks from the whites. Whisk the yolks with the sugar until frothy, beat in the oil and milk. Add the flour with the cocoa and baking powder. Finally fold in the beaten egg whites and spread the batter on a greased and floured baking sheet. Bake at 180 °C for about 20 minutes, then let the base cool completely.
  • Hollowing out the cake After cooling, carefully scoop out the center of the base and crumble the removed cake. Leave the edges about 1 cm thick.
  • Bananas Place the halved bananas side by side into the hollowed-out space.
  • Cream Whip the cream until stiff. Mix the mascarpone with the quark and sugar, add the whipped cream and chocolate. Spread the cream over the bananas into a slight mound.
  • Finishing Sprinkle the surface with the crumbs from the scooped-out cake and press gently. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, ideally overnight.
