- Dough preparation: Place the quark in a bowl, add the coarse flour, semolina, sugar, salt and egg. Mix everything well by hand and work into a smooth dough. If the quark is good, the dough should not stick too much.
- Shaping the dumplings: Make small pieces from the dough that you can wrap the fruit of your choice in. Alternatively, you can make smaller dumplings without filling.
- Cooking: Put the prepared dumplings into boiling water. Gently move them so they don't stick to the bottom. Cook for about 5–7 minutes, until the dumplings float to the surface.
- Serving: On the plate, sprinkle the dumplings with cinnamon, cocoa powder, or sugar and drizzle with melted butter. If desired, add whipped cream, fruit, or lemon balm as a garnish.
