Preparation procedure

  • Cream: Whisk the egg yolks with the sugar until foamy, add the cocoa and the starch.
  • Then, while stirring vigorously, slowly pour in the milk so that lumps do not form.
  • Put the mixture on the stove and, stirring constantly, heat over a low flame until the cream thickens.
  • Line a suitable pan, e.g. a baking sheet, with aluminum foil and arrange the first layer of biscuits.
  • Spread part of the cream, place more biscuits and repeat this process until you run out of cream and biscuits.
  • The last layer is biscuits. Wrap the dessert in aluminum foil and put it in the refrigerator overnight or for at least 2 hours.
  • In the morning the slices will be nicely soft and you will be able to cut them neatly.
  • TIP: Pay attention to your choice of aluminum foil, some types stick to food and cannot be removed. Therefore leave 2 biscuits stuck together with cream as a sample and wrap them in a piece of the chosen foil. After a while unwrap the biscuits and see how it looks.
