- Preparing the vegetables: Slice the tomatoes and onions. Wash the parsley and dill. You can either chop them into larger pieces or leave them whole.
- Filling the jars: In sterilized jars, layer the onions, tomatoes, and herbs alternately. The last layer should be onion and should end about 1.5 cm below the rim of the jar.
- Preparing the brine: Bring the sugar, salt, oil, and vinegar to a boil in the water. Pour the hot brine into the jars so that all the vegetables are submerged.
- Sealing and storage: Close the jars tightly, turn them upside down, and wrap them in a blanket to cool slowly. After cooling, store the jars in a dark, cool place.
