- Warm the milk, add a teaspoon of sugar and the yeast. Let the starter rise.
- Mix the semi-coarse and plain flour in a bowl, add salt, baking powder, olive oil, crushed garlic and the starter.
- Stir, add 100 ml warm water and work into a loose dough, which we sprinkle with plain flour and leave to rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
- Then take smaller pieces from the dough, sufficiently dust them with plain flour and work by hand into a firmer dough and shape into a thinner roll.
- Wrap the edge around the skewer onto which we have alternately threaded green and black olives, wrapping the dough up to the top.
- Place the skewered sticks on a baking tray lined with paper and bake in a preheated oven at 200 degrees until golden.
- Before baking don't forget to brush the top of the dough with beaten yolk and you can also sprinkle seeds or coarse salt.
- Instead of olives you can also use sun-dried tomatoes.
