Preparation procedure
- Cake preparation: In a bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Add the melted Hera (or butter), eggs, oil and milk. Mix thoroughly so that all the ingredients combine. Pour the batter onto a greased and floured baking sheet. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C (about 25–30 minutes) until lightly browned. After baking, use the other end of a wooden spoon to make "pokes" all over the cake so the glaze can soak in better.
- Glaze preparation: In a small saucepan, heat the butter (or Hera), rum and hot water. Add the powdered sugar mixed with cocoa and cook until all the ingredients combine and you obtain a smooth glaze.
- Finishing: Let the glaze cool for a while, then pour it over the cake. Start from the center and allow the glaze to reach all the holes. Let it set and then serve.
