Preparation procedure

  • 1. Preparing the starter: Add the granulated sugar to the warm milk and let it dissolve. Add the dried yeast and let it sit for a while to create a yeast starter.
  • 2. Mixing the dough: Mix the remaining dry ingredients in a bowl. Add the egg yolks, butter and the proofed starter. Knead everything thoroughly and let it rise in a warm place for about 20 minutes.
  • 3. Shaping the doughnuts: Place the risen dough on a work surface and gently press it with your hands into a larger sheet. Use a glass to cut out circles and let them rise, covered with a cloth, for another 30 minutes.
  • 4. Frying: Heat oil in a pan and fry the doughnuts on both sides until golden. Remove the cooked doughnuts and place them on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
  • 5. Preparing the cream: Add the cornstarch, egg yolks and sugar to the milk. Cook into a thick pudding, then remove it from the heat, stir in the vanilla extract and let it cool slightly.
  • 6. Filling and serving: Cut the doughnuts in half and fill with pudding. Sprinkle the top with powdered sugar and serve.
