Princess donuts are delicate, light and perfectly fluffy. Thanks to the delicious vanilla cream and whipped cream, they will become the star of any festive table. Prepare them using our tried-and-true recipe!

Preparation procedure

  • Dough preparation: Pour water into a pot, add the margarine, sugar and salt. Bring to a boil. As soon as the mixture starts boiling, gradually add the flour and stir continuously until a smooth mass forms that pulls away from the sides of the pot. Let it cool. Gradually beat the eggs into the cooled dough. A smooth dough will form. Transfer the dough to a piping bag and pipe circles (donuts) onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Bake in a preheated oven at 200 °C for about 20 minutes. Then reduce the temperature to 180 °C and bake for another 15–20 minutes. Do not open the oven while baking! After baking, let the donuts cool and cut them in half.
  • Filling preparation: In a bowl, mix the egg yolks, cornstarch and a little cold milk. Bring the remaining milk with the sugar and vanilla sugar to a boil. Pour in the egg yolk mixture and, stirring constantly, cook until the cream thickens. Let cool. Beat the softened margarine into the cooled cream until smooth.
  • Whipped cream preparation: Whip the cream to stiff peaks.
  • Finishing: Fill the sliced donuts first with the cream and then with the whipped cream. Place the top half of the donut on and dust with powdered sugar. Serve and enjoy the perfect taste!
