Preparation procedure

  • Preparation of the cream pudding Pour 100 ml of cream into a small bowl and whisk in the entire packet of pudding. Heat the remaining 300 ml of cream in a saucepan until almost boiling, add the whisked pudding and cook, stirring constantly, for 3–4 minutes until a thick cream forms. Allow to cool slightly.
  • Preparing the puff pastry Unroll the puff pastry and roll it out lightly into a larger rectangle. Divide it into two equally sized pieces.
  • Assembling the dessert Place the bottom piece of pastry on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Spread the cream pudding on it – not all the way to the edges, so the cream doesn't leak out. Cover with the second piece of pastry and gently press the edges together. Brush the surface with the egg yolk.
  • Baking Bake in a preheated oven at 190 °C for approximately 25–30 minutes, until the surface is golden and flaky.
  • Finishing Once cooled, sprinkle with icing sugar. Serve plain or with fresh fruit.
