Preparation procedure

  • Dough preparation In a larger bowl, mix the flour, yeast, sugars, baking powder, milk, oil and egg. Work into a smooth dough, which, thanks to the baking powder, is ready to use immediately.
  • Shaping the koláčky Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface and cut out circles using a glass. Transfer them to a baking sheet greased and dusted with flour. Using the bottom of a smaller cup, make a well in the center for the filling.
  • Poppy seed filling In a saucepan, heat the milk and add the poppy seeds, sugar, rum and cinnamon. Stir constantly and simmer briefly until the mixture thickens. Let it cool slightly.
  • Filling and baking Fill the wells in the koláčky with the poppy seed mixture. Brush the koláčky with beaten egg and sprinkle with the crumble, which you prepare by rubbing together the butter, sugar and flour. Bake in an oven preheated to 180 °C for about 20–25 minutes, until the koláčky are golden.

Total preparation time: approx. 45 minutes

Number of servings: approx. 20 koláčky (depending on size)
