Preparation procedure

  • Preparation of the base: Preheat the oven to 180 °C (top and bottom heat). Beat the eggs with the sugar until pale and fluffy. Add the oil and milk, mix. In another bowl, mix the flour, baking powder and cocoa. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and beat into a smooth batter. Pour onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper (approx. 30 × 40 cm) and bake for 20–25 minutes. Let cool.
  • Preparation of the cream: Whip the cream with the stabilizer until stiff. In another bowl, mix the mascarpone with the sugar. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone and finally add the grated chocolate. Mix everything gently.
  • Assembling the cake: Spread the prepared cream over the cooled cocoa base. Top the surface with washed and halved strawberries.
  • Final touches: Prepare the red cake jelly according to the instructions on the package and immediately pour it evenly over the strawberries. Let the cake rest in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours so the jelly sets and the flavors meld.
