This recipe for royal layered potatoes is proof that simple and tasty dishes have existed for centuries. Compared to classic layered potatoes, this recipe uses a proper pork loin instead of sausage, which gives the dish a full-bodied flavor and a royal touch. This dish is ideal for a family lunch or dinner when you want to prepare something filling and delicious.

- Meat preparation: Rinse the pork loin and cut it into medium-thick slices. Pound the meat lightly and season with salt and pepper on both sides. Grease the baking dish with oil and place the cutlets side by side in it.
- Seasoning: Spread mustard over all pieces of meat. Slice the onion into rings and distribute them evenly over the meat.
- Potato preparation: Clean and peel the potatoes. Cut them into thin slices and spread them over the onions. You can arrange them in two layers if needed. Salt the potatoes and spread the sour cream over them.
- Baking: Grate the hard cheese over the potatoes and cover the baking dish with aluminum foil. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C for 30 minutes.
- Finishing: After 30 minutes remove the foil and bake for another 15 minutes, until the cheese is golden and has a crispy crust. Sprinkle the finished potatoes with freshly chopped parsley and serve.
