Preparation procedure

  • Preparing the starter: Crumble the yeast into a bowl, add a teaspoon of sugar and some lukewarm milk. Stir and leave to rise for about 10 minutes, until the starter doubles in volume.
  • Preparing the dough: In a bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, butter, egg yolks, the remaining sugar and the yogurt. Pour the prepared starter into the center of the mixture and gradually add the rest of the milk. Mix everything thoroughly and work into a smooth, non-sticky dough. Cover with a cloth and let rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes, until the dough doubles in volume.
  • Shaping the buns: Roll the risen dough into a sheet about 1 cm thick. Cut into squares and fill them with jam, plum butter or another favorite filling. Wrap the dough into bun shapes and place them seam-side down next to each other in a baking dish greased with oil.
  • Baking: Preheat the oven to 200 °C. Bake the buns for approximately 20 minutes, until they turn golden. After baking, let the buns cool slightly and serve.
